Happy Birthday Dad!

Yesterday, June 27th was my dad's 50th birthday. Wow, he is old! :) My mom and all the people my dad works got him so good yesterday! He was picked up in a white hearse, a coffin was laid outside of the building, everyone was in black, and he had a cake with 50 black candles. There was actually a lot more to it than that, but suffice it to say, it is a good thing my dad has a good sense of humor and can roll with the punches! He is such a good guy and I love him so much! Speaking of rolling with the punches, I hope he will be okay with me posting this picture. We were visiting a while ago, and I looked over and this is what I saw! And this is a guy who is normally allergic to animals!

The Microwave Story

Okay, in the last blog I posted, I stated that I would tell the microwave story. Well, I am afraid it gives away one of our 'not so smart' moments. A few weeks after we moved into our house, I noticed the microwave was not working. I tried to plug it in to other outlets in the kitchen and nothing happened. Because it is an older microwave we inherited from Cameron's work, I was sure it was worn out and had died. Well, we went to Twin Falls to Lowe's, and we bought a microwave. When we got it home, we realized it was way too big, but we still needed a microwave very soon. We ran to Wal-Mart and bought yet another microwave. It was the right size, so we plugged it in and nothing happened. We plugged it in to another outlet in the hall and it worked. We then realized that none of the outlets were working in the kitchen, and all we had to do was push the reset button on one of the outlets. Duh! Needless to say, we kept our old microwave and took the other ones back. We probably did not need three microwaves!

So, I do not yet know how to write captions for each picture, but the first picture is obviously the outside of our house. We do not have a yard yet; that will have to wait until next year. We have a big garden in the back, though, and we have an awesome view of the Snake River from the backyard. The second picture is of Cameron pushing our desk down the hall so we could put it in our spare bedroom that we use for the office. It was quite an adventure getting it into the house and into that room, so that picture makes me laugh. The third picture is of me staining the cupboards that we hung above the washer and dryer. Neither one of us had stained or hung cabinets before, so that was pretty fun and we are proud of our work. Picture number 4 is a view of our dining and living room right after we hung that chandelier. That was so hard to hang! Too bad we did not get pictures of me balancing it on my head while Cameron tried to wire it.

The last picture is a view of our kitchen right before we left to buy a new microwave. I will tell the microwave story on another post. I love my kitchen because it is pretty spacious. It is very fun to cook... and dance in!

Moving is a lot of work!

We moved on May 24th and we had a lot of help from people in our ward and family members. Thanks Bruce for letting us use the horse trailer. That helped a ton. When we got to Burley, more family was ready to help and we loaded everything in pretty quickly. We love our new house and it was fun to put stuff away and make it our own. Cameron and I learned we make a great team when it involves drilling shelves in, putting cabinets up, and even hanging a chandelier! Cameron was good about making sure we took lots of pictures of all of our hard work. We had to have proof we did it! :) Enjoy the many pics of our adventure.

Welcome to our blog! Some of my friends may be saying, "It's about time!"

For those of you who do not know, Cameron and I have moved to Burley, ID. We are excited to embark on a new chapter on our lives after living in Pocatello the last 4 years and attending Idaho State University. I recently finished my internship in dietetics, and I am now studying for the R.D. exam that I will take this summer. Cameron is finishing up his bachelor's degree in Organizational Communications this summer. We have been so blessed. Here are some pictures of us and our house in Pocatello.
