Memorial Day "summer" camping

Last weekend, we had the idea to go camping with Cameron's sister Bridget and her husband Marcus. And of course our dogs, Ace and Oakley. It rained all week but we were optimistic for the weekend. Anyway, we drove to Bone, Idaho to camp on Saturday morning bright and early as Bridget and Marcus had gotten there the night before. The temperature was a warm 32 degrees and it was snowing! We couldn't get the pick-ups up the trail to where we were camping so we had to load everything onto the 4-wheelers and take them up a mile and a half trail in the mud. Needless to say, Saturday was miserable, and we kept saying, "what are we doing?" Oakley was shivering and so muddy and wet and I felt the same way. Thankfully, Sunday and Monday were warmer and there was no rain or snow so we were able to go 4-wheeler riding and enjoy being outside. I wish I would have gotten a picture of Cameron, Oakely, and I on the 4-wheeler. He did pretty good for his first time! Check our the mud on those 4-wheelers! Ace and Oakely playing tug-o-war with a piece of bark. They had a great time together but Ace really wore Oakley out. Bridget in our "kitchen" area starting to cook a meal. Notice the winter coat. It was cold! Marcus sprained his ankle on his motor-cycle so Cameron was helping him fish in the pond while he had his foot in the water. This is the inside of our tent in the second room. We closed off the partition at night and turned on our propane heater at night, so we stayed toasty warm. Oakely probably could have slept 12 hours if we let him. Oakley was having a nap in the tent (such a puppy) but he poked his head out when he heard us calling for Ace. The three of us in front of the pond that Cameron's dad dug several years ago for his family to enjoy. Foster Farms used to own the ranch up there. The pick-up as we were loading up to go home. So muddy!

Nothing like rain and mud while camping. Looks like you made the best of it and had a good time. Makes taking a shower awesome.
