Summer trip

Okay, I have putting this off for a while now because I knew I had a ton of pictures to upload, but they are all just so good! This summer has been busy and we have done some fun things. We had our summer trip with the Holingsworths this year, but we wanted to keep it cheap, short, and simple this year because when it was planned we had hoped we would have a baby or one on the way by the time we left. We invited another one of our good friends that we rarely see, the Arials. Jamie was my college roommate at BYU-Idaho, and her and her husband, Cameron and their two boys now live in Boise. She is from Arizona, so it is nice them live relatively close. Anyway, we three couples rented a cabin/house in Driggs, ID and spent time canoeing, hiking, going to shows, and just hanging out. It was pretty laid back, which was just what I needed. Cameron and Blake Hollingsworth now both work for First American in different towns and they took a bunch of customers from Farm Credit Services up to the "Hoeback" in Alpine, WY on Tuesday, July 19. Lindsey, the kids, and I drove up Tuesday night and camped and played all day Wednesday in Alpine and Jackson Hole. On Thursday, we met the Arials at our cabin in Driggs and we all went to Bar J Wranglers that night. What a blast! Friday, we floated down the Teton River in canoes, and Saturday we hiked halfway to the "wind caves" or "Monument" (the kids aren't quite big enough yet) and then went to the Play Mill in West Yellowstone that night to watch Beauty and the Beast. I love going there and they do such a good job. Sunday, we loaded up to go home. Enjoy the pictures!
Dinner at the cabin! The kids enjoyed it too.

Cameron's so good with kids. Beck Arial and Brytton Hollingsworth look like siblings,

Blake took this picture of dinner right before we all sat down. We had huge steaks, grilled corn, salades, and dutch oven potatoes. Yum!

The tetons! We spent an afternoon at Grand Teton National Park.

We went to Mesa Falls with Jamie's whole family, well at least most of the 13 kids and one grandpa! They drove up from Mesa, Arizona to go to the Play Mill with us and go to Yellowstone for a few days. Jamie's dad is from Idaho, and her grandpa currently lives in Basalt/Firth area. Small world!

Hiking on the Monument trail. It was a beautiful day and the kids were troopers. Cameron Arial was not able to go on the hike (golfing) so my Cameron carried Beck when he needed a boost.

Ahh, Canoeing along the Teton River! We saw a ton of fish in the clear, shallow water and even a moose right on the bank! We quickly kept paddling.

Bar J Wranglers! They were so funny and the food was good too. For anyone who has not gone, it is way worth it!

Our home sweet home for a few days. It was very roomy with 4 bedrooms and enough beds for everyone. A very nice vacation!

I am so jealous that you and Jaime got to hang out. I haven't seen or talked to either of you for 2 years. Glenn's little sisters are headed up there in September so maybe we will make our way up there soon. I miss you...

Looks like you guys had a blast!! My family used to go to play mill every year and camp in the area every year (family get together) until just a few years back.
