There is no way I can get on the computer when Jacoby is awake because he HAS to sit on my lap and I get nothing done, and when he is asleep, I have a million other things to do, including the books for the business. When I'm done with that, blogging is the last thing on my mind. With all those excuses in mind, I want to do better at posting. I am missing documenting my sweet boy as he is growing up way too fast!
Jacoby is almost 23 months old and is definitely acting like a toddler. He is getting more personality all the time and very definite in his opinions. When he wants something, he says "please!" over and over again louder and louder but we have no idea what he wants. Usually he can guide us to whatever he wants, and then has a meltdown if he is told "no." At least he is saying please and at least we can distract him pretty easily when he throws fits so they don't last too long.
He has always had great facial expressions and gives us "the look" frequently with eyebrows furrowed. He'll smirk after a while so we know he's totally messing with us. He is so smart! We have to be so careful what we say and do around him because we inevitably hear him saying it or doing it. Case in point: Cameron was sitting on the couch while sick and we were eating lunch. He asked me to throw him a biscuit, and so I tossed it to him and said, "catch." Immediately, Jacoby picked up a piece of his food on his tray and threw it at me, saying "catch."
Jacoby's favorite song right now is "Old McDonald's Farm." We sing it ALL THE TIME, especially in the car. He is getting really good at singing "e-i-e-i-o." I can never catch him singing on video but I hope I can get it recorded before he moves on.
Jacoby continues to love cheese, fruit, smoothies, and yogurt, and if he eats anything else (like bread or meat), I get excited. I definitely have a toddler.
I got rid of the pacifier, which he was very attached to in the car and in bed, right before Thanksgiving. He had a few rough weeks with lots of crying when laid down for naps and bed, but by December 10, he usually went down without a fuss. I am so glad I got rid of it because it was such an issue in the car. He had to have it and if it fell down on the floor, I usually had to pull over to try and find it. Now he travels great!
Jacoby gives great hugs and kisses and loves books. We read several books a day and he sits pretty still. He has some favorites with animals and can say and remember so much. It seems he will have a love of reading like his mama. I love snuggling with him while we read. Happy New Year!
